Lyceum

What is a Lyceum?

  • The Lyceum is a practice for strengthening participants’ connection to other learners. Older adults, mature adults, and younger learners strive together for shared understanding. Participants gain knowledge and wisdom to solve problems to improve themselves and their communities.

  • Our innovative approach takes inspiration from Aristotle in ancient Greece. The Lyceum also applies learned knowledge and skills from Indigenous cultural practices. Through respectful dialogue, we create understanding on complex issues. We develop goals and hold each other accountable to pursue truth in our personal quests.
